APB Group Ltd have recently completed remedial works at the historic Old Hill Tunnel, Rowley Regis, as part of a £2 million repair scheme.
The scheme, funded by Network Rail, is seeing vital repair works to this historic rail tunnel being carried out in a bid to strengthen and repair the 157-year-old tunnel which runs for 819 metres along the Stourbridge to Snow Hill line.
APB were part of the team comprised of several specialist rail engineering contractors who worked together to deliver the works which were completed in February 2020.
The scope of work included much needed repairs to brickwork, strengthening the structure of the tunnel, waterproofing work and repairs to the lining of the tunnel.
The significance of this historic rail maintenance project meant that it was lucky enough to be featured on BBC News.
